michaelsweet-newsFor over 25 years Christian rock pioneer Michael Sweet has broken down walls and seen unprecedented success bringing his music to the masses. Best known as the singer and songwriter for righteous rockers known as Stryper, his role in Stryper only scratches the surface of this multi-talented artist. Michael Sweet, in addition to his very visible role in Stryper, is also a Nashville songwriter, producer, acclaimed solo artist, and in 2008 was even a member of the legendary band BOSTON. With over 8 million records sold worldwide, a Grammy nomination, and a Dove Award, Michael Sweet continues to break new ground in all aspects of his diverse career. The future remains bright for a man who has endured heartbreaking tribulations throughout his life and career, including the 2009 passing of his wife of more than 22 years. Sweet continues to record and tour with Stryper, as well as touring and recording as a solo artist, all the while making frequent trips to Nashville where he is writing with some of the biggest country music writers in the business.

johnelefante-newsJohn Elefante was born in Levittown, New York, and his family soon moved to Long Beach, California. Growing up, he sang and performed drums for his family band, The Brotherhood. As an artist, his credits include writing and singing lead vocals on three multi-platinum albums; as producer, his albums have earned numerous Dove Awards, 4 Grammy Awards (most recently in 2000) and 10 Grammy nominations. John’s international career began in earnest when he auditioned as the new lead singer and keyboardist for super-group, Kansas, in 1981. John sang the lead vocals and performed keyboards on three (multi) Platinum albums with Kansas. He was also a major songwriting contributor (along with lead guitarist/keyboardist/songwriter Kerry Livgren). On 1982′s Vinyl Confessions, he co-wrote and sang the #4 Billboard Mainstream Rock hit, “Play the Game Tonight”. He also wrote the acoustic-based classic “Chasing Shadows”, along with the Top 40 single, “Right Away”. The next year, on the following album, Drastic Measures, he wrote the early MTV favorite, “Fight Fire with Fire”, which remains the band’s highest charting single at #3 (Mainstream Rock) as well as a staple of Kansas’ live shows to this day. John was also responsible for “Everybody’s My Friend,” which was released as the second single from the album and reached #34 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.

stryper In 1984 Stryper released their debut recording, The Yellow and Black Attack and have since gone on to sell almost 10 million records worldwide with their hook laden songs, heavy guitars, pristine vocals and inspirational lyrics. Today Stryper is one of the few bands from that era “Featuring All Original Members”. They continue to tour the world and produce Billboard-charting albums. Brothers Michael Sweet and Robert Sweet, along with Oz Fox and Timothy Gaines, make up the legendary hard rock quartet. Looking back over the past 25 years, Stryper is considered to be a groundbreaking act on all accounts. They are one of the first Christian rock bands to achieve unprecedented success in the mainstream. Their 1986 album To Hell With The Devil is listed among CCM’s “100 Greatest Albums in Christian Music” and the band’s popular power ballad “Honestly” became a Billboard Top 20 hit and reached number 1 on MTV. Their pop-rock hit “Calling On You”, also entered MTV’s top 10, simultaneously with “Honestly” being one of the first bands to have two top 10 videos on MTV. Even as recent as 2010 and 2011 Stryper found their way once again on the Billboard Charts with their albums Reborn, Murder by Pride and The Covering.

theoutlaws-newsThe Outlaws were born to the blue-collar port city of Tampa, Florida in the early 1970’s. The band was made up of Hughie Thomasson, Henry Paul, Billy Jones, Monte Yoho, and Frank O’Keefe. Joining the likes of Tom Petty and other regional acts at the time, The Outlaws quickly became a favorite of the Tampa college crowd. With the help of newly recruited manager Charlie Brusco, the band set its sights on taking the show on the road. Earning a reputation as a great live band, they lit up the clubs from Macon to Nashville and honky-tonks throughout the southeast. Following in the footsteps of such great bands as The Allman Brothers and The Eagles, The Outlaws developed their own high-powered, guitar-driven country-rock, complete with exciting self-penned music and stellar three-part harmony. At Ronnie Van Zant’s urging, Lynyrd Skynyrd manager Alan Walden became management partners with Charlie Brusco, and the two men brought label executives to the up-and-coming band’s doorstep. Clive Davis signed the band to his newly formed Arista label in the spring of 1975. The Outlaws’ debut album rode the momentum of AOR classic “Green Grass and High Tides” to #13 on Billboard’s Hot 100. With substantial success in the live concert arena and on the strength of repeated chart-topping records, The Outlaws established themselves as premiere players in the phenomenon that came to be known as Southern Rock. After decades of triumph, The Outlaws have endured repeated tragedy in the loss of original members Frank O’Keefe, Billy Jones, and most recently signature singer/songwriter/guitarist Hughie Thomasson.

Today, The Outlaws are at the threshold of a new era. Along with original singer/songwriter/guitarist Henry Paul and original drummer/songwriter Monte Yoho, the Outlaws feature Chris Anderson, Billy Crain, Randy Threet, and Dave Robbins.

Fans of all music genres will experience non-stop entertainment by today’s most popular acts from dual headline stages set at the pristine 1600-acre BamaJam Farms, “Where God and Country Coincide.” Come for the music, cool down in the new water park (opening spring 2012), explore the ATV trails, tailgate at the camping sites, park the RV with full service amenities or swing a club or two at the par 3 executive golf course onsite.
